Jameson Taillon Whiffs Season-High 10 Batters In No-Decision
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon was masterful despite not factoring into the decision in Wednesday's outing against the Orioles. Taillon tossed 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits. He walked just one batter and struck out a season-high 10, generating an impressive 18 swings and misses on 90 pitches. The righty often utilizes his fastball to great success- and that was no different tonight- though he kept hitters off balance with his secondary pitches as well, accounting for half of his whiffs with the curveball-slider combo. Taillon has lowered his season ERA from 5.74 in June all the way down to 4.04 and is a must-start right now, considering the strikeouts and wins he's providing.
