Andrew Heaney Serves Up Four Homers In Yankee Debut
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Andrew Heaney struggled mightily in his debut at Yankee Stadium Monday night, taking the loss against the Orioles. Heaney went just four innings, surrendering four runs on six hits, all of them homers. He did strike out four while issuing no walks, but he struggled with leaving pitches out over the heart of the plate. The ability to rack up punchouts is there- 27.9 percent strikeout rate and 13 percent swinging-strike rate- though Heaney's fly-ball tendencies did not play well at all in his first outing in the Bronx. Heaney is lined up to face the Mariners next, who have tagged him for eight earned runs in 7 1/3 innings this year.
