Travis Shaw Ahead Of Schedule
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers third baseman Travis Shaw (shoulder) is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a dislocated left shoulder. Shaw took grounders for the first time on Monday and will start swinging a bat in one week. He's currently on the 60-day injured list, but he's hoping to return on Aug. 10 against the Chicago Cubs. The 31-year-old did have six home runs and 28 RBI in 56 games (202 plate appearances) before his injury, but he was slashing just .191/.279/.337 with a .616 OPS with the Brew Crew. Luis Urias has been struggling at the hot corner of late as well, leading to speculation that Milwaukee could be a potential trade partner with the Colorado Rockies for star shortstop Trevor Story. There's no reason to stash Shaw outside of deep NL-only affairs.
