Austin Hooper 2021 Outlook: Boom or Bust TE2 with Limited Upside
4 years agoAustin Hooper averaged just 6.96 half-PPR fantasy points per game in his first season with the Browns. Compare that to 11.71 fantasy points per game with the Falcons in 2019. His targets per game dropped from 7.5 to 5.4. The Browns like to spread the ball around and also have two other highly capable tight ends in David Njoku and Harrison Bryant. Hooper did have two games with 10+ targets last season but also had six games with four or fewer targets. Because of his decreasing targets, he'll likely need to come up big in the red zone in order to finish as a top-15 TE. Consider Hooper a boom-or-bust TE2 option heading into the 2021 season.
