Bears Confirm Andy Dalton As Their Starter
4 years agoThe Chicago Bears confirmed on their official Twitter page on Wednesday that quarterback Andy Dalton will be the starter heading into the 2021 season by posting "QB1" and a picture of Dalton in a Bears uniform. The Bears moved on from Mitchell Trubisky this offseason but still have Nick Foles as a capable backup with plenty of experience. They'll give Dalton the first crack at things after he took over for an injured Dak Prescott in Dallas last year, throwing for 2,170 yards (64.9 completion percentage), 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 11 games (nine starts). The 33-year-old has had ups and downs in his career, mostly with Cincinnati, and can be a capable leader of an offense. However, the upside is minimal from a fantasy perspective, making him mostly an uninspiring QB2. Dalton could be good news for Allen Robinson II if the two can develop chemistry this summer.
