Bears Agree To Terms With Damien Williams
4 years agoThe Chicago Bears agreed to terms on an undisclosed one-year deal with former Kansas City Chiefs running back Damien Williams on Wednesday, according to a source. Williams will reunite with head coach Matt Nagy and assistant coach Bill Lazor. Nagy was the offensive coordinator previously for the Chiefs, while Lazor was his offensive coordinator with the Miami Dolphins. Williams opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19, but he could easily hit the ground running in an offense that he's very familiar with. The 28-year-old will most likely serve in a change-of-pace role behind starter David Montgomery while also competing for the No. 2 job with Tarik Cohen. Williams had a career-high 111 carries for 498 yards and five rushing touchdowns in 2019 with KC, also adding 30 receptions for 213 yards and two touchdowns. But fantasy managers shouldn't expect those kinds of numbers while fighting for touches in Chicago.
