Denzel Perryman Agrees To Deal With Panthers
4 years agoThe Carolina Panthers agreed to an undisclosed two-year deal with free-agent linebacker Denzel Perryman on Wednesday. The addition of Perryman fills a position of need at middle linebacker and should be a huge boost to the team's run defense. The former Los Angeles Chargers linebacker is one of the best run defenders in the league when healthy, but he's mediocre in coverage. The 28-year-old has never played a full season in his six seasons with the Bolts, but he should be an immediate starter for Carolina at middle linebacker in 2021. Perryman had 48 combined tackles (three for loss), one forced fumble and one sacks in 13 games (six starts) in his final season with the Chargers last year.
