Jaguars Restructure Andrew Norwell's Deal
4 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars and offensive guard Andrew Norwell agreed to restructure his contract on Monday to free up additional salary cap space for the 2021 season. The restructure converts it into a one-year deal worth up to $12 million, including $9 million fully guaranteed, according to a source. Norwell was an All-Pro in 2017 and is a very talented run blocker. He was an offensive lineman at Ohio State when Urban Meyer was the head coach, so he's reuniting with Meyer again in 2021. The 29-year-old was a big reason why rookie running back James Robinson had such a great season last year. The Jaguars are hoping that Norwell will continue to play at a high level and help protect quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who is expected to be the team's No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft.
