Anthony Castonzo Announces Retirement
4 years agoIndianapolis Colts offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday. The 10-year veteran started all 144 career regular season games and eight playoff games that he appeared in with the Colts after being drafted with the 22nd overall pick of the 2011 draft out of Boston College. The 32-year-old played in just 12 games in 2020 and required season-ending ankle surgery after Week 15. Castonzo also dealt with a knee injury that slowed him down this season and ultimately played into his decision to hang up his cleats. While never being selected to a Pro Bowl or first-team All-Pro squad, Castonzo was one of the better left tackles during his run with the Colts. Indy still has a very strong offensive line, but losing Castonzo is a blow moving forward.
