Matthew Stafford Considered A High-Risk Close Contact
4 years agoUpdating a previous item, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is being considered a high-risk close contact from a non-team member, according to a source. The Lions put Stafford on the COVID-19 list on Wednesday, but his last contact was Monday, which means he would be eligible to come off the list on Sunday and play against the division-rival Vikings. There's still a chance that Stafford will play this weekend, but you have to make backup plans just in case he isn't cleared. Chase Daniel and David Lough are the options to replace Stafford under center if he cannot play. Coming off a 300-plus-yard performance in Week 8, Stafford would be a high-end QB2/low-end QB1 against Minnesota if he plays. The Vikings have allowed 2,078 passing yards and 17 touchdowns to opposing QBs in 2020.
