Rashard Higgins (WR, CLE) - Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: This Higgins is not Tee, but this Higgins isn't rostered on 70% of Yahoo! leagues either. So you know what to do. Rashard Higgins has been flying under the radar for a while now, which is reasonable considering the Browns feature a stacked offense made of Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, and Austin Hooper. Who the hell was going to think about poor Higgins!?

Well, from Week 5 on, count me among those in that group. After just playing 16 and 5 snaps in the first two games of the season, Higgins has been on the field for 34+ snaps every game. He's scored 12.1, 8.3, and 17 PPR points in the last three games respectively, and he finished Sunday's game against Cincinnati with a season-best in targets (6), receptions (6), and yards (110). Although he didn't score, he had done so in Weeks 5 and 6 on a much lower usage (3 and 2 targets respectively).

Higgins has been a sneaky play and a sure-thing on offense for QB Baker Mayfield, who has found a great pass-catcher in him lately. Higgins 10-of-11 receptions (91% catch rate) are yielding one of the best percentages through the past three weeks. Now, he might be able to see if Higgins can keep that efficiency up while on a larger role.

Beckham Jr. was forced out of the Week 7 game just one drive into it, and Higgins has opened a path toward his 6 targets. If Beckham can't be ready to go against the Raiders, it is reasonable to expect Higgins to reach another healthy diet of targets. Not a very valuable WW target for those in shallower leagues, but for those fantasy GMs in deeper formats you can do much worse than rostering a potential WR2/3 to slot in your FLEX position.
