Jaguars Cut Mike Glennon, Joshua Dobbs
4 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars cut both backup quarterback Mike Glennon and Joshua Dobbs on Saturday, according to a source. It comes as a surprise and means that it will be starter Gardner Minshew II and Jake Luton as the only signal-callers on the roster for now. Glennon, a third-rounder by the Buccaneers in 2013, has thrown for 5,163 yards, 36 touchdowns and 20 interceptions in six years with Tampa, Chicago, Arizona and Oakland. There's a chance that either he or Dobbs returns to the team in a backup role, but it's clear the Jags are comfortable with Minshew as the starter after he overachieved in 2019 in his rookie season. Minshew has good improvisational skills, but Jacksonville's roster has mostly been gutted and he won't have a very high ceiling as a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues.
