Derwin James Has Successful Surgery
4 years agoLos Angeles Chargers star safety Derwin James (knee) had successful surgery on Tuesday to fix a meniscus tear in his right knee. He'll be put on Injured Reserve and will make a full recovery in time for the start of the 2021 season. James is an All-Pro at just 24 years old, so his loss will certainly be felt in LA's secondary this year. 2017 fourth-rounder Rayshawn Jenkins now figures to be the team's starting strong safety, which is a big drop in talent. The Chargers Defense is still very talented, but they could be vulnerable in the secondary in 2020 despite the addition of veteran cornerback Chris Harris Jr. Drop the Chargers D a tad on your draft cheat sheets, but they're still worth a look as a low-end fantasy defense.
