4 years agoCarolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said that linebacker Shaq Thompson (groin) is still dealing with a nagging groin injury. Defensive tackle Derrick Brown (ankle) went down in one-on-ones in practice on Friday with a nagging ankle injury. However, Rhule said that Brown's injury isn't expected to be serious. Thompson could return to practice soon, but it's something to keep an eye on as one of the team's defensive leaders. The Panthers Defense will need the 26-year-old to step up with Luke Kuechly retired in the tough NFC South. With 109 combined tackles (75 solo), 11 tackles for loss, four QB hits and three sacks in 2019, Thompson has become a low-end starter at linebacker in IDP leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
