4 years agoTampa Bay Rays first baseman/designated hitter Ji-Man Choi will not be in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Atlanta Braves. Choi gained considerable notoriety for slugging his first home run of the season as a right-handed batter over the weekend, but his start to the 2020 season has been slow, going just 2-for-15. Yandy Diaz will hold down first base and bat third in the Rays lineup Wednesday with Choi on the pine. The next opportunity that Choi will have to get back into the starting nine comes Thursday against Atlanta with left-hander Max Fried expected to be on the mound.--Jesse Borek
