David Peralta Cleared To Take Part In Workouts
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder David Peralta has been cleared to participate in the team's summer camp on Monday after missing the first weekend of workouts for unknown reasons. Peralta admitted that he was feeling sick a week ago, but he tested negative for COVID-19 and should be ready to go for the regular season. The 32-year-old left-hander broke out with 30 home runs and 87 RBI in 2018, but he fell back to Earth with 12 long balls and 57 RBI while being limited to 99 games last season. Peralta had surgery on his shoulder towards the end of the year, but he should be fully healthy with the season being delayed. His underlying metrics showed that his 2018 numbers were more of an outlier, so don't pay for a return to those heights.
