Troy Stokes Jr. Has Surgery For Broken Hand
4 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Troy Stokes Jr. (hand) suffered a broken bone in his hand and underwent surgery to fix it, according to manager Ron Gardenhire. It's the reason why Stokes was left out of the team's player pool for the upcoming season. The 24-year-old is looking unlikely to be ready for the start of the regular season in late July. A former fourth-round selection of the Brewers in 2014, Stokes hit just .233/.341/.385 with nine home runs, 40 RBI, 50 runs scored and 14 stolen bases in 95 games for Triple-A San Antonio in the 2019 season. His power/speed combination is intriguing for a rebuilding Tigers squad, but he shouldn't be on the radar for those in redraft leagues as of right now.
