Jamal Adams Pushing For Trade To Cowboys
4 years agoNew York Jets safety Jamal Adams, who requested a trade last week, would prefer to be dealt to the Dallas Cowboys, his hometown team. Adams grew up in the Dallas area and attended high school 31 miles from AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys are one of eight teams he'd accept a trade to without needing a new deal, but the Jets haven't granted him permission to seek a trade. Dallas was a suitor last year at the trade deadline for Adams, but the Jets have no intention of trading him with him being under contract for two more years. An All-Pro in 2019, Adams wants to be one of the highest-paid defensive players in the league and wants an extension before the 2020 season. Dallas could use Adams' services in the secondary, but they only have around $11 million in salary cap room as of right now. No matter where Adams is playing come Week 1, he should be the top IDP target among defensive backs.
