5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jalen Hurd (back) was catching passes from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo during a throwing session on Friday that also includes receivers Kendrick Bourne and Chris Thompson. Hurd didn't play at all in his rookie season after being drafted in the third round, but he looks to be recovered from his injury and will compete for a role in 2020 this summer. The 24-year-old has raw athletic ability and can make an impact in Kyle Shanahan's offense, but it's unclear exactly how much he'll play or what specific role he'll have in an offense that also includes Deebo Samuel and rookie Brandon Aiyuk. For now, Hurd is merely a late-round flier in really deep leagues. Keep an eye on him when training camps kick off next month.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
