Marlon Mack 2020 Outlook: NFL Draft Turns Mack Into Backup
5 years agoIndianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack was one of the players affected most by the 2020 NFL draft. Mack operated as Indy's lead running back over much of the past two seasons but saw his role ripped away from him when the Colts traded up in the second round to draft Wisconsin tailback Jonathan Taylor. Mack is coming off a career year which saw him rack up 1,091 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 247 rushes in 14 games played. While Mack may be able to fend off Taylor in the early portions of the season, the Colts didn't sink a second-round pick into Taylor without the intention of using him. To further make matters worse for Mack, Nyheim Hines is still around and expected to soak up a majority of the pass-down work. Mack enters the 2020 season as a late-round flier who will need an injury in front of him to be fantasy relevant.
