Nick Chubb 2020 Outlook: Improved Offensive Line Will Benefit Third-Year RB
5 years agoCleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb turned in a top-notch 2019 season. He finished second in the NFL behind only Derrick Henry with 1,494 rushing yards while tacking on eight rushing touchdowns, 36 receptions, and 278 receiving yards. All of that production came behind an offensive line that was clearly a team weakness in 2019. Cleveland spent plenty of resources to bolster the offensive line this offseason, signing a mauling run-blocker in Jack Conklin to play right tackle and using the No. 10 pick to add Jedrick Wills to play left tackle. While the presence of Kareem Hunt caps Chubb's potential in the passing game, the latter remains one of the best pure rushers in the NFL and should thrive running behind a revamped run-blocking unit. New head coach Kevin Stefanski also ran one of the most run-heavy schemes as the offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings last season, so expect another RB1 season out of Chubb in all formats. He is being drafted around pick 12 in PPR leagues and pick 17 in standard formats. Chubb is worth of being targeted at those prices, especially in standard leagues.
