Golden Tate III 2020 Outlook: 16 Games On Tap?
5 years agoNew York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate III missed some time last season after testing positive for a banned substance. However, despite his inactivity for over a quarter of the year, he still managed to finish with a respectable 49 catches (85 targets) for 676 yards and six touchdowns. Tate's 13.8 YPR was his highest number since 2013, and his touchdown total was the most since 2015. With the quarterback controversy surrounding the G-Men in 2019 now a thing of the past with the retirement of Eli Manning, Tate could see an improvement in many areas as he continues to build a rapport with sophomore signal-caller Daniel Jones. Health concerns surrounding Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram could also enhance his stock from an opportunity standpoint as both missed significant time last year. While he may concede looks to Darius Slayton, who has been highly touted by many, the 31-year-old still has a solid chance to remain involved and continue to contribute sporadically on the fantasy end in 2020.
