Jack Conklin Agrees With Browns
5 years agoThe Cleveland Browns agreed to a three-year, $42 million deal with right tackle Jack Conklin on Monday. The deal includes $30 million fully guaranteed and will pay Conklin $20 million in the first year of the deal. It's a big win for the Browns, who desperately need to upgrade their offensive line to help quarterback Baker Mayfield take a leap in 2020 and beyond. The 25-year-old offensive lineman was one of the best offensive tackles on the open market, but he didn't last long. It's good news for Mayfield and running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt and bad news for Derrick Henry in Tennessee. Conklin played in just nine games due to injury in 2018 but has started every game in his other three NFL seasons. He was a first-team All-Pro in his rookie year in 2016.
