Lamar Miller, Carlos Hyde To Hit Open Market
5 years agoHouston Texans impending free-agent running backs Lamar Miller (knee) and Carlos Hyde are set to hit the open market next week, according to sources. Hyde declined a contract offer from the team already, while Miller is coming off a torn ACL in 2019. With Miller hurt last year, Hyde led the team in rushing with 1,070 yards -- his first 1,000-yard season in the NFL -- on 245 carries with six rushing touchdowns. Miller, who turns 29 next month, missed all of last season but came just short of the 1,000-yard mark in 2018 and had 4.6 yards per carry. Hyde will likely be a rotation back wherever he lands in free agency, while Miller's value will be decided by where he lands and how healthy he is. With third-down back Duke Johnson at the top of the current running back depth chart, the Texans will surely look to free agency and the draft to improve their backfield.
