Jacoby Brissett Needs To Work On Quicker Release
5 years agoIndianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni was impressed with quarterback Jacoby Brissett's pocket awareness and ability to extend plays outside the pocket in 2019, but he'd like to see him improve on scanning the field and getting the ball out of his hands faster. "He always knew where to go with the football, and then we just speed that up a little bit," Sirianni said. The 27-year-old is no guarantee to open the 2020 season under center, however, as the Colts are still up in the air as to whether he can be their franchise QB. They'll take a hard look at this year's great free-agent crop of quarterbacks as a result. But even if Brissett is the starter come this fall, he's more of a middling QB2 for fantasy owners without a ton of upside. The Colts receivers must also stay healthy for him to have a chance of reaching his ceiling.
