Josh Reddick Could Make Spring Debut This Weekend
5 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Josh Reddick (shoulder) said he will make his Grapefruit League debut possibly as early as this weekend. Reddick is healed from offseason left shoulder surgery but arrived at camp on a personal workout plan. The Astros are just being cautious with the 33-year-old, and he should be fine in time for Opening Day. Reddick hit a useful .275/.319/.409 with 14 home runs, 56 RBI and five steals in 141 games last year, but he doesn't play frequently enough to contribute relevant numbers in the counting stats in shallow mixed leagues. He'll be battling for playing time in right field in a loaded outfield picture in Houston, too.
