Hunter Harvey 2020 Outlook: Huge Upside Despite the Unknown
5 years agoBaltimore Orioles rookie pitcher Hunter Harvey got in 6 1/3 innings last season and showed his electric stuff, striking out 11 batters. He had excellent strikeout numbers throughout the minor leagues to go with impressively low walk rates. While he worked mostly as a starter in the minors, he worked exclusively out of the bullpen in his Triple-A and big league innings in 2019, and that's where he'll begin 2020. With no sure things in the Orioles bullpen, Harvey could supplant Mychal Givens in the ninth inning if Givens struggles, gets hurt, or gets traded. Harvey has huge upside, but his specific role is yet to be determined for the 2020 season.
