Trea Turner Could Hit Third In Lineup
5 years agoWashington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner is an option to hit third in the batting order now that Anthony Rendon is with the Angels. "We'll see. I talked to Davey briefly about it. I thought it was kind of a joke for the last month or so. But now I guess it's somewhat serious," Turner said. The 26-year-old middle infielder is a rising star and hit .298/.353/.497 with 19 home runs, 96 runs, 57 RBI and 35 stolen bases in 521 at-bats in 2019 on the way to a World Series championship. He's hit exactly 19 homers each of the last two years and has swiped 78 bags in that time as well. A move to the three-hole will likely mean less runs scored and probably fewer steals, but more RBI opportunities. Turner is a late first-round option at the 6 in fantasy drafts.
