Auston Matthews Scores 42nd Goal In Win
5 years agoThe Toronto Maple Leafs received two points from Auston Matthews on Saturday night as the club defeated the Ottawa Senators by a score of 4-2. Matthews continues to set new career-highs with each goal scored and currently sits at 42 goals through just 59 games. With 71 points, he’s two points away from tying his career-high in that category. William Nylander scored his 26th goal of the season and now has 10 points over the past 10 games. Mitch Marner scored his first goal in seven games. John Tavares’ assist was his 10th point in the past seven games. Goaltender Jack Campbell had another solid game in net for his new team. Since his trade from the Kings, he’s won three games and posted a save percentage of .925 or higher in three of his four appearances. Connor Brown and Cody Goloubef had goals for Ottawa.
