Max Pacioretty Scores Two in Vegas’ Win
5 years agoMax Pacioretty set the tone early with two goals as the Vegas Golden Knights and St. Louis Blues exploded for 11 combined goals on Thursday night. The Blues fought back but Vegas held on for a 6-5 win in overtime thanks in part to scoring four power-play goals. Pacioretty has five goals over his past four games. He’s just four goals away from hitting 30 for the sixth time in his career. Jonathan Marchessault hit the 20-goal plateau with two goals in this game, including the game-winner in overtime. He has 40 points in 54 games. Nate Schmidt also scored for Vegas and is two away from his career-high of nine. He has five points in the last four games. Backup goaltender Malcolm Subban allowed five goals on just 24 shots and his inconsistent play (along with Marc-Andre Fleury’s disappointing play) could be an issue for a team looking to make the playoffs.
