Yonder Alonso Signs With Braves
5 years agoThe Atlanta Braves signed first baseman Yonder Alonso to a minor league deal on Tuesday, according to a source. Alonso hit an atrocious .199/.296/.346 with 10 home runs and 37 RBI in 121 games between the White Sox and Rockies last season. After clubbing a career-high 28 homers with the A's and Mariners as an All-Star in 2017, Alonso hit 23 dingers and drove in 83 with the Indians in 2018, but he fell off drastically a season ago. In Atlanta he'll strictly be a bench bat if he makes the team out of spring training and will likely only see significant at-bats if All-Star first baseman Freddie Freeman misses time with an injury.
