Brandon Drury Avoids Arbitration
5 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays and third baseman/outfielder Brandon Drury avoided salary arbitration on Thursday by agreeing to a one-year, $2.05 million deal. Drury started the 2019 season as the team's starting third baseman, but he became a corner outfielder primarily once prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was called up. The 27-year-old hit an underwhelming .218/.262/.380 on the year with 15 home runs, 43 runs and 41 RBI in 418 at-bats. Drury has some pop and plays in a nice hitting environment, but his playing time will be in question, making him outfield depth in AL-only setups for the 2020 season.
