Bucs Likely To Make Decision On Jameis Winston In Weeks
5 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said he'll likely have a decision on quarterback Jameis Winston in a couple weeks, but they might not announce it at that time. The expectation is that Tampa will slap Winston with the franchise or transition tag and keep him around for at least one more year, but it's not a certainty. The former first overall pick in 2015 compiled the eighth most passing yards (5,109) in a single season this year in Arians' pass-happy offense, but along with his career-high 33 touchdowns, he also threw a league-high 30 interceptions and fumbled nine times. Winston has become a QB1 in fantasy in Arians' offense, but both the Buccaneers and fantasy owners will have to take the good with the bad. He'll remain a QB1 in 2020 if he stays in Tampa with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin as his top two receivers.
