David Johnson's Future In Arizona Is Cloudy
5 years agoArizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim was non-committal on running back David Johnson's long-term standing with the team. "We'll take a deep dive into this roster and take a look at every guy. Not only their contract situation but as I said earlier, identifying the core of players moving forward and making sure we can build around them," Keim said. Since his 1,239-yard, 16-touchdown season in 2016, Johnson has mostly been a disappointment. He played in one game in 2017 before a season-ending injury and fell just short of 1,000 rushing yards last season. In 11 games in 2019, DJ has only 89 carries for 336 yards and two rushing touchdowns while battling through more injuries. He's been a big first-round bust for fantasy owners and surely won't be drafted as an RB1 in 2020 drafts.
