Matthew Stafford Could Miss Up To Six Weeks
5 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) could miss up to six weeks due to tiny, non-displaced fractures in his upper thoracic spine. Stafford will have another scan later this week to determine his status going forward, but there is no firm timetable until we know how his bones are healing. There's a chance that Stafford could be ready for Week 12, but he could also be out all the way up until Week 17. The 31-year-old has thrown for 2,499 yards, 19 touchdowns and only five interceptions in one of his best seasons in the league, so his loss has been tough for the Lions and fantasy owners. Continue to sit tight for now. Jeff Driskel will remain the starter under center in the meantime, but he is obviously a downgrade for Detroit's pass-catchers.
