Kevon Looney 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoGolden State Warriors power forward/center Kevon Looney is coming off quite the postseason that saw him play through a chest injury. Looney showed to be a vital part of the Warriors plans going ahead and they rewarded the big man with a three-year, $15 million deal. Coach Kerr has spoken highly of the versatile big man and had stated that he expects Looney to be the Warriors' starting center once the season begins, especially with Willie Cauley-Stein suffering a foot injury that will sideline him for the month of October. Looney's per-36 minute output last season was a solid 12.2 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.1 steals. We do not expect to see these types of numbers this season, but Kerr has hinted that Looney will play 25-plus minutes a night and most likely close games. He is worth a flier pick in the later rounds and he may just turn some heads this season with a more solidified role in San Francisco.
