Tommy Pham Hitting .340 Against Left-Handed Pitching
5 years agoTampa Bay Rays designated hitter Tommy Pham will start and hit second against the A's in the Wild Card play-in game Wednesday. Pham has struggled with injuries throughout the second half of the season, nursing hand and elbow ailments. But he has a solid matchup against A's projected starter, left-hander Sean Manaea. Pham has torched left-handed pitching all season, slashing .340/.467/.478 with 13 doubles and a 37:35 walk-to-strikeout ratio. Pham's power has been sapped by injuries (.393 slugging in September) but should post quality at-bats as the Rays look to extend their season.
