Danuel House 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoHouston Rockets guard/forward Danuel House made a big breakthrough as an NBA player in 2018-19, becoming a valuable piece and even a starter for the team. He featured in 39 regular-season games after amassing only 24 appearances in the previous two years for Washington and Phoenix. House also had a nice run as a starter, averaging 11.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 29.8 minutes per game over 13 outings. He shot 49.5 percent from the field as a starter, including an amazing 48.3 percent from downtown. The sample size isn't too big, but it was good enough for the Rockets to sign House up for three years and 11 million in the offseason. Head coach Mike D'Antoni could keep Eric Gordon as the starting small forward, but there's a decent chance that he'll prefer to give the role to House, who is more versatile and can guard multiple positions. The move would also improve Houston's bench scoring, which was a big problem throughout the last campaign. House won't do anything spectacular, but he has the tools to quietly pick up something of everything during the course of a game.
