Antonio Brown Fined By Raiders, Unlikely To Play Week 1
5 years agoThe Oakland Raiders have fined wide receiver Antonio Brown $215,073.53 for punting a ball during a heated exchange with general manager Mike Mayock, voiding his $29.125 million guaranteed money for this season. Brown emailed ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington, saying there's “no way I play after they took that and made my contract week to week.” After issuing a team apology Friday, it appears Brown will no longer play in Week 1, and it's possible he may never actually suit up for the Raiders at all this year after asking for a release via social media. Owners should look to bench the seven-time Pro Bowler for Week 1 and stay tuned to how the rest of this ongoing situation plays out over the weekend. Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller would be in line for more targets with Brown out, but none are strong fantasy options versus a stout Broncos Defense.
