Jalen Richard Prepared For Pass-Catching Role
5 years agoThe Oakland Raiders will once again utilize running back Jalen Richard as a third-down pass-catching back this season. He finished the 2018 campaign tied for first on the team with 68 receptions, and he ranked seventh in the league in this category among all running backs. With the Raiders adding a dynamic group of receivers this offseason, and selecting Josh Jacobs in the first round to be an every-down back, Richard's role in 2019 will undoubtedly decrease. He'll likely begin the season with more playing time to ease Jacobs into third-down action, but still won't hold much fantasy value in any league format. Richard remains a handcuff and would only find value in PPR leagues as a one-dimensional player if an injury were to strike.
