Stephen Piscotty Goes On Injured List
5 years agoThe Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Stephen Piscotty (ankle) on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a high right ankle sprain, according to manager Bob Melvin. Piscotty will see a specialist on Monday to determine a timetable for a return, but you should expect him to miss well over the 10 days on the injured list. The 28-year-old suffered the injury last weekend on a slide into second base, but he was able to play through it until this weekend. Nick Martini will likely return from Triple-A Las Vegas. He's gone 1-for-11 with a homer, two RBI and two walks in six games for the A's this year and could be worth picking up in AL-only affairs. Mark Canha, Chad Pinder and Robbie Grossman will make up the outfield until Ramon Laureano (shin) returns from his injury in early September.
