Cubs Call Up Ian Happ From Triple-A
5 years agoThe Chicago Cubs are bringing outfielder Ian Happ back to the majors. Happ has spent the entirety of 2019 at Triple-A, where he's hit .242 with 16 home runs, 53 RBI and 66 runs over 99 games. Happ played in 142 games for the Cubs last year but struggled mightily with strikeouts (36.1% strikeout rate) and he had an OPS of just .761. The move might mean Kris Bryant could be headed for a stint on the Injured List after he left Wednesday's game with knee soreness. Regardless, Happ can remain on waivers in all leagues for now.
