Blake Treinen Making Good Progress
5 years agoOakland Athletics closer Blake Treinen (shoulder) threw 20 pitches in a flat-ground session on Thursday and his next step will be a bullpen session after an off day on Friday. “As far as the progression goes, I think we’re on a good pace,” manager Bob Melvin said. Treinen certainly hasn't been as lights-out as he was in 2018, posting a 4.08 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, 16 saves and 36 K's in 35 1/3 innings. However, it looks like he could be back from the injured list when he's eligible and back closing games for the A's and fantasy owners soon. Keep him stashed everywhere. Liam Hendriks should see most of the save chances while Treinen is on the shelf.
