Mark Trumbo Suffers Setback
6 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Mark Trumbo (knee) felt soreness in his surgically-repaired right knee again and was scratched from the lineup at Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday. He was given a platelet-rich plasma injection in the knee, and manager Brandon Hyde said that Trumbo would be shut down for seven to 10 days. It's frustrating since Trumbo was in the final stages of his 20-day rehab window. In eight games for Norfolk he was 6-for-28 (.214) with a home run and two RBI. The 33-year-old is in the final year of his three-year, $37.5 million deal and can provide some pop in AL-only leagues when he's healthy. With Renato Nunez seeing most of the time at designated hitter, too, Trumbo might struggle for regular playing time when he makes his season debut.
