Breshad Perriman 2019 Outlook - Final Chance to Impress
6 years agoAt 6’2" and 215 pounds, Breshad Perriman has the size to be a good receiver in the NFL. After wasted years in Baltimore in which he could not stay healthy, he was finally released in 2018. After getting a stint with the Browns he showed the league what he could do. Despite only have 16 catches and two touchdowns in 10 games, his 340 receiving yards and his 21.2 yards per catch average show his downfield ability. On 59 career receptions, he has a career average of 15.25 yards per catch and this is how he will be used in Tampa Bay.
With Bruce Arians in as head coach, the Buccaneers and Jameis Winston are wanting to go down the field. Mike Evans and O.J. Howard are going to allow this to happen, but Perriman could also receive some traction. Chris Godwin will take over the slot from departed Adam Humphries and we still have to wait and see on the run game, but the offense looks pretty set for the 2019 season.
Don’t expect Perriman to compete for targets with any of the above-mentioned players but in an offense, who will be throwing a lot there will still be targets for him. He is not going to be a PPR machine but in standard leagues in which yardage is more important, he will be a better play. In PPR leagues, Perriman is not draft-worthy, but in standard leagues you could make a case for him as a WR5. This is not saying much, and he is certainly not a target you should be aiming for, but you could make worse decisions in the last rounds of fantasy drafts.
