Luke Weaver Elects To Rehab UCL Injury
6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Luke Weaver (elbow) was diagnosed with a mild right flexor pronator strain and mild right UCL sprain in his right elbow, but he will not need surgery. However, he's still likely to be out for an extended period of time while treating the injury conservatively through rest and rehab. Arizona isn't giving a timetable for his return, but the speculation is that Weaver could take anywhere from six to eight weeks to heal. Weaver thinks he will return this season, but it's no guarantee. He had been one of the team's best starters before the injury, posting a 3.03 ERA over 11 starts. Keep him stashed in all leagues for now. Rookies Jon Duplantier and Taylor Clarke are expected to remain in the rotation for now.
