Browns Expect Duke Johnson At Mandatory Minicamp
6 years agoCleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens said he fully expects running back Duke Johnson to show up at mandatory minicamp next week. Johnson has asked the team to be traded after they signed Kareem Hunt and hasn't showed up to voluntary organized team activities. Second-year running back Dontrell Hilliard has stood out as depth in the backfield this week with Johnson absent. Johnson, 25, had a career-low 47 receptions with Cleveland last year as they transitioned to Kitchens as head coach midseason. He could have a role in the first eight games of the season as a pass-catcher out of the backfield with Hunt suspended, but Johnson's best path to fantasy relevance again in PPR leagues in 2019 is probably through a trade. He might not get his wish, however.
