Robert Woods 2019 Player Outlook - A Regression Is Likely To Come
6 years agoLos Angeles Rams wide receiver Robert Woods had his best season as a pro by a mile last year. He totaled career highs in every receiving and rushing category as he finished with 86 catches for 1,219 yards and six touchdowns. He also added 19 carries for 157 yards and a touchdown. Woods will likely still be the number one target in a prolific Rams offense, but he will be sharing targets and touches with a number of other studs. Fellow wideout Brandin Cooks was just a tick behind Woods last year, and wide receiver Cooper Kupp looks to return from his torn ACL this year. There's also stud running back Todd Gurley that was on a tear for much of last season. Woods is still a very good player, but the problem is he's surrounded by other very good players. The targets just won't be as plentiful for him. He should still have weeks where he features heavily to put up a WR1 statline, but he's likely going to finish as a WR3 next season. If you own him in dynasty, I'd sell him while his value is high, and make sure to avoid him in redraft unless he slides on draft day.
