Matt Duffy Not Completely Shut Down
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said that infielder Matt Duffy (hamstring) got "fairly good news" from a hamstring specialist on Wednesday. He will not be shut down completely, but there is no set date for him to resume a rehab assignment. Duffy has yet to play this year and now will have to restart a rehab assignment before the Rays think about activating him. Now would be the time for him to be active in order to see at-bats with Yandy Diaz (hand) on the shelf. Whenever Duffy does return, he'll likely have limited fantasy value in what is expected to be a utility infield role.
