Jordy Mercer Getting Second Opinion
6 years agoDetroit Tigers shortstop Jordy Mercer (quadriceps), who left his rehab game with Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, was diagnosed with an acute onchronic muscle strain in his quadriceps. He is seeking a second opinion and his rehab assignment has been put on hold. In other words, don't expect the glove-first player to return from the injured list next week. Mercer is barely hitting over the Mendoza Line in 19 games for Detroit this year and is a career .255/.315/.382 hitter with 56 home runs in 3,065 plate appearances.
